We are one of the forty nine lodges which make up the Province of Dorset. We meet in Wimborne, just one of the seventeen meeting venues across the county.

Supporting our armed forces

Today is Armed Forces Day, there seems to be a 'special' day most days but this is certainly something special and close to the heart of Amphibious Lodge. We support several charities each year with a military connection, this year it's Bournemouth Above and Beyond as well as our annual rememberance meeting supporting the poppy appeal.

A checkered past

On our news page we recently posted an article about reciprocal visits and in particular our association with Amphibious 258, who meet in Heckmondwike, West Yorkshire. Here is a brief resume of their history (with acknowledgement to their website) and how they came to be where they are now.

A special raffle for a special cause

During our installation meeting on the 12th September a special raffle was held in aid of a battlefield walk that Lennie Court will be undertaking later this year. His plan is to lay wreaths at four of the Great War memorial sites, Flanders, Passchendaele, Menin and the Somme. Brother tours the battlefields

Last Sunday, Armistice Day 2018, with three others, I visited a few of the battlefield Monuments in Belgium and France. We laid Masonic Wreaths on behalf of the Lodges in Hants & IOW, Dorset and Grand Metropolitan. Sites chosen as follows, Thiepval on the Somme and in Flanders, Ypres, Tyne Cot and Flanders Fields. more...
