The Beginnings of Dunckerley Lodge No. 3878
FOUNDING OF THE LODGE
A petition for the new Lodge to be formed in Poole was presented at the meeting of the Lodge of Amity on the 15th May 1918 on a proposition by WBroWheeler, seconded by WBro Norris. It was signed in open Lodge by the W.M. S.W, and J.W.
At the meeting of the Lodge of Amity on the 17th July 1918 the Secretary reported that agreement had been made for the new Lodge to pay an annual rent of £ 25 until membership reached 50, after which it would become £ 35.
CONSECRATION
Consecration of 'Dunckerley Lodge No.3878' took place on the 11th September 1918 at the Masonic Hall, Market Street, Poole. The ceremony commenced at 3.00 p.m. and was followed by a Banquet at 5.30 p.m. The Consecrating Officer was the Deputy Provincial Grand Master W.Bro.Col. Sir William Watts, K.C.B.
